Custom Development

Due to taking on a full-time job as a Systems Architect, I'm not available for custom development anymore.

I'm planning on keeping my extensions updated as well as adding new features. For people interested in custom development for my extensions you could ask on the Support Forum. If I can't help, someone else might be able to.

Jobline updates on the way PDF Print E-mail
Written by Olle Johansson

I've done quite a bit of work with Jobline for a few clients and they have all gratiously agreed to donate the code to the GPL version, so there will be an update coming in the not to distant future.

Some of the additions

  • Search Bot - I've created a Search Mambot for Jobline so that it will be possible to search the job postings through the Mambo search function.
  • Show Jobs module - This is a module that can show job postings sorted in a few different ways.
  • Templates - The next Jobline version will include a template system for all frontend html output so that you can easily change the html without editing any scripts.
  • Custom Fields - It will be possible to add extra text fields for job postings, it's not intuitive and it isn't very advanced, but it will work until I get the time to create a more advanced system.
  • There are also more configuration options, a bunch of bug fixes, some other new functions and a Dutch language file.

No release date set

I can't say when these things will be released though, I'll try to get the module and search bot out as soon as possible, but I need to fix a few more things in the component before the next version can be released and I don't have much time at the moment.

permissions for certain users

This is great to hear.

One suggestion if you haven't thought of it
already.

I am using jobline to post jobs on our company site. We only have 4
people who need to submit content and publish it directly to the site whenever
they need to. I was thinking the best way to do this is not allow for just
anybody to see the "post a job" link. Instead it is only displayed to
people who have permission to post a job or publish a job.

So the idea would
be to put in your configuration area a way to allow certain users to update this
area.

In the config area you could have the ability to selct the user and
then two radio boxes, can submit jobs or can publish jobs. If a person click
both then the person has the ability to submit and publish a job.

This would
make jobline more powerful for people who just want to use it to post jobs
within their site.
Great news.

But, Is there any chance of getting an upload function for the resumès of the
job seekers?
That, including Company Logo possibilitys for the job offerers
would be great.

I'm grateful for your efforts in making, in my opinion, the
best component.
