Update for 4.5.1

I will update the component to work with 4.5.1 as soon as I have some available
free time.
Remove US state
Gardener (83.226.134.xxx) 2004-09-26 20:34:07

At the moment US State can't be removed in any other way the editing the file
jobline.html.php where it is printed.

I am however planning on having some
form of configuration option to allow different types of addresses to be used in
the next version.

This is great and i would like to use it. what are your plans for further
development.

i am using your option in the netherlands.. and their i could
also need a option that people could upload their CV so that employers also can
search for people. (thats the otherway around od what you have now.

but this
is really great...

Thanks - and a suggestion
Guest (24.205.90.xxx) 2004-10-20 14:46:56

Hello, this is a great component -- it can really boost a community site.
Thanks for making it available as open source.

One suggestion: Add another
field to individual postings, so that access to that posting can be granted to
all / registered members only / special only....

This way, a community site
could make "fresh" (recent) job posting available first to registered
members; after a set time (e.g. 1 week) it could be made available to all
(manually, in this case).

This way, our users would get an extra incentive
to register.... ;-)

Thanks again ....
Thank You

This is a great component - and I am really looking forward to using it on
4.51a

Thank You,

waiting for the 4.5.1 compatible version is literally killing me! :?
Please get it ready for 4.5.1!
Guest (66.23.192.xxx) 2004-11-03 02:23:26

I can wait to see it in 4.5.1. I am actually holding the announcement on my
site for this feature. I really want to get this in there. It will be a great
service to the community.
4.5.1
Guest (68.124.97.xxx) 2004-11-06 06:02:30

What's the status of a 4.5.1 release?
Hey
Guest (66.23.192.xxx) 2004-11-06 15:39:08

This is a great component. - I can't wait for it to be ported over to 4.5.1!
Would a donation help with this?
i know, right...
Guest (69.115.21.xxx) 2004-11-11 06:18:13

in the words of dag nasty, "i'm still waiting."
Nice addition-feature request
Guest (67.119.94.xxx) 2004-12-18 22:51:59

I have this up on my site www.travelnursingusa.com. I as the admin would like to
have an email notification whenever a posting goes out to one of my customers.
VERY important to me. Maybe you could just add a second email address?
Another Idea
Guest (203.144.143.xxx) 2004-12-22 08:27:00

Just another idea. It may have a component like an applicant management attached
to Jobline. This component will help arranging interview schedule and screening
applicants.
Can I turn off company info?
Guest (24.211.143.xxx) 2004-12-29 08:23:40

I like the component, but ALL job postings are for my own company. I do not
want to have to fill in all comapny info forms every time or have them displayed
to users. How can I hide/delete/sabotage/camoflage those fields?

Sure, sounds like a good idea, I'll try to add that for the next
release.

Yes, I understand it would be a good thing, but it's a big feature and
it won't be included in the near future.

You could edit the file components/com_jobline/jobline.html.php and
remove where the fields are printed.

For future versions I'm
planning on making it possible to select what fields should be shown and
possible add new fields and h...
THANKS!
Guest (207.219.94.xxx) 2005-01-05 17:56:35

Finally I found what I was looking for. Thank you.
Another idea: employer
should be a registered user and be able to edit posted message without asking
admin (if this position is on hold or if they want to unpublish it). Login and
password could be the same as for registered user. There is one more benefit in
it - if email provided is incorrect - we know who to contact (registered user).
if no email provided....
Guest (216.220.225.xxx) 2005-01-20 20:44:35

This is a great component...I will be using it on my site as soon as I go live.
Question:
If you don't put an email down (some of my job posters don't accept
applications via email) then when they click apply for job the job application
just gets lost. How can I disable "apply for job" if there is no email
provided?????
if no email provided...
Guest (69.194.90.xxx) 2005-01-23 05:53:16

Mine didn't work either, so I just removed "apply now" button. Employer
should provide clear instructions in "how to apply".

Guest (194.7.39.xxx) 2005-01-24 10:48:18

Could be interesting to register the applications (users should be able to post
them CV/application and edit/update it later).
So employers, via admin
authorisation, could have access to a complete data base of profiles.
Would you consider payment for
Guest (217.158.132.xxx) 2005-01-27 23:09:11

Hi Great component, but needs slight customisation for my particular use. Only
subtle changes . Would you consider payment for such work? and if so how much
would you charge?

Layout of listing
doc (81.182.35.xxx) 2005-02-05 21:39:31

I understand Jobline uses the ccs of Mambo. Please specify the file. I wonder
how could one increase the hight of the row, and also the position of the
components on the page. Currently using the standard Mambo template it is quite
crowded.

Thanks,

Please don't ask questions, post feature requests or bug reports here. I have a

The comments should primarily be used for

Jobs on RSS feed
Guest (213.197.198.xxx) 2005-04-11 14:12:55

This is a great component, thanks! Is there a way to feed the jobs to RSS? That
will allow for publishing in the newsscroller.

Thanks - Awaiting next issue..
Guest (139.168.56.xxx) 2005-04-22 06:21:29

Thanks Olle,
I look forward to the version update where (optionally) only
registered users can post jobs or apply for them.

Are you available for custom updates if need be?

I need job matching and

Great component!
I have just a little suggestion for an updated version:
Could
you add an option to upload (mail) a reume-file instead of putting it all in a
little textarea. Maybe also a good idea for the application-letter?

Guest (81.13.164.xxx) 2005-10-24 23:27:10

:?
Is it possible to include in the listing of all Job a little picture ?
I
think it is better if yo have more than 1 different "customer" will post
regulary Job.
For IE : an entreprise will have an account and will publlish Job
regulary. For his enterprise it is a good idea to have this logo apear on each
Job posted for disting of other !

Jobline Component Hack - Valid
Chilly_Bang (88.72.238.xxx) 2006-10-26 00:58:22

If you are using the Jobline Component by http://mambo.theyard.org/ you should
noticed that the 'apply for this job' form is not validating any required field,
so visitors can just click the send button and see the 'thank you' page without
even filled any of the fields.

Here is the solution: (I assume you are using
the 'simple' template of the jobline)

1 - Go to your admin area,

2 - Open
Components > Jobline > List Templates,

3 - Edit the 'applicationform'
template,

4- Replace the whole code with the following:

{mxtlang=_JL_APPLYFORJOB}: {mxtvalue=title}
Los
campos marcados con asterisco (*) son obligatorios.

{mxtlang=_JL_FIRSTNAME}*

{mxtlang=_JL_LASTNAME}*

{mxtlang=_JL_ADDRESS1}*

{mxtlang=_JL_ADDRESS2}

{mxtlang=_JL_CITY}*
