Custom Development |
|
Due to taking on a full-time job as a Systems Architect, I'm not available for custom development anymore.
I'm planning on keeping my extensions updated as well as adding new features. For people interested in custom development for my extensions you could ask on the Support Forum. If I can't help, someone else might be able to. |

Since there seems to be quite some interest in an integration for vBulletin as well I've decided to start a collection to give me some encouragement to get it going. I don't really have an interest in this myself more than it would be a good thing for Mambo to have integration for vBulletin available. The integration itself will be released as GPL so that it will be available for everyone.
The integration won't be a complete integration as the phpBB integration, since vBulletin is a commercial product and I won't be able to publish any script from it. It will however be complete user integration so that users only have to login once and be logged in to both vBulletin and Mambo. Also it will hopefully be possible to comment on articles directly into topics on the vB forums.
Use the button below to donate via PayPal so that I will know the money is for the integration. You may donate any amount you feel you can afford.

It seems I've misinterpreted the GPL and the client I've done the changes for Accombo for has requested that the changes should not be released.

Today I created a small module called Show Links to show links from a category in the weblinks section. I'm using it for the "Mambo Sites" links in the left column here on Mambo at the Yard. The module can also show links from all categories and has several params to configure how to show the links.
Read on for more information on the different params.

I've released the template for component specifications document that I'm using for development so that others might get some help structuring their component development. Also, if someone who is more experienced than me in writing these kinds of documents have any comments on it I'm more than happy to hear them out.
The document can be downloaded from the File Archive here on Mambo at the Yard under Mambo -> Mambo files.

A first beta version of the GT Links component has been released and is available from the File Archive. GT Links is a wrapper component that allows you to show all files created by Links 2.0 or Links SQL from Gossamer Threads inside Mambo.
Links 2.0 and Links SQL are two powerful commercial Yahoo-like link directory scripts with features such as ratings, hit counters, unlimited sub-categories and more.
The development of this component was sponsored by boatbuilding.com which ensured it's release.
