Applying for job 11 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 0
Hi,

I have a problem in applying for a listed job from the front-end.

In the Configuration section, I have added the default name and default email address. The template is set to default, and "Use email program for applications instead of a form." is set to no. However, I cannot see the apply button on the job posting in the front-end.

Also, while creating/editing job posting, I can see "Extra fields", "Contact Information" and "Publishing" as words, but not as links. Is this the way it is supposed to be?

Would really appreciate your help in solving this -

(Joomla v1.5.9 and Jobline v1.1.3.1

In order for contacting to work, you need to set a contact email for the job posting. This is because the email needs to be sent somewhere. If it isn't set, the contact functionality makes no sense, and is automatically removed. Please see the documentation and FAQ for more information regarding this.

I'm not sure what you mean by words not showing up as links. Also, is this for the frontend or the administrator?

I had studied the FAQ to realise about the contact email being mandatory. However, when I click on the Contact Information when created a new job posting via the backend (logged in as Super Admin), the fields to enter contact details does not appear. Same is the case for "Extra Fields" and "Publishing".

Could there be a problem with the installation (even though Joomla had not displayed any error message)? Should I try to uninstall/reinstall the module?

thanks

What exactly do you mean with that the details don't appear? To the right of the job description text area there should be a bunch of tabs with extra information. Clicking on "Contact Information" in the header should switch tab to the one with the contact information fields.

If that doesn't happen, I would need a full bug report, preferably with screenshots and OS/Browser information etc. I just tried it in both Joomla 1.0 and 1.5.10 in both Firefox and Internet Explorer 7 and it works just fine.

Hello Olle

I just installed this Jobline last week. The issue being spoken about above occurs in the admin are when adding / editing a job. See the attached image for missing tabs

Thanks, Luni

Yeah, they look a bit funny, but they should still work AFAIK.

Nope, it's not a link or tab, it's just text that I highlighted.

What it's doing is.....I can effectively post a job from the front end, but when I attempt to post a job in the Admin I can only add the job info from the 1st tab, the other 3 tabs are not working or linkable.

If you look closely at the image I uploaded, in the red circle I drew, you can clearly see that they are not links or tabs.

Thanks Olle

Yes, I know what you are referring to. Have you tried clicking on them? As I said, they look funny, but they work for me.

If you want me to be able help I out, I really need you to read the forum rules and provide enough information so that I can replicate the problem.

Good Morning Olle
Not a problem, here's a little background on my site.

Joomla Version 1.5.10
Domain: www.Lineworker.net/dev
PHP version: 5
MySQL unknown (hosted at www.godaddy.com)
Server Operating System: Linux
Jobline Version: Version: 1.1.2.2

I looked to send a username / password but was unable to see how to send a PM via your forum board.

You can use test/test to get in as a "registered" user, but no admin / edit options are available.

Thanks for all you do
Luni
