Is there a way for me to put my own "welcome message" at the top of the "view guestbook" screen?

Go to Jobline under the Components menu in the Joomla administrator and choose to edit the templates. The one you want to change is called "list".

I am sorry, but how does the "list" template allow me to change the text at the top of the main page? For example, if I wanted to change the "View Guestbook" text to say something like "Read Our Customer Testimonials"

How would I do that? I looked at the list template and there's nothing in there that has any text from the front page. I looked in the other template files too, nothing in those either.

The answer you seek is right here in the thread. Adding a welcome text can be done by changing the template, but changing any text in the program can be done by editing the language files.

So if you are using English as you language in Joomla, just edit the file:
components/com_jambook/language/english.php

There you will find all text found in the component. Please make sure you escape any quotes you may use in the text so the file doesn't break. You do this by putting a backslash in front of any quotes: ' or "

This might just be lack of HTML knowledge on my end, but when I add text to the list template, table borders form around everything and when I go back into the list template code, the table parameters all have question marks where numbers should be. What am I doing wrong?
