Need some simple help 1 Month, 3 Weeks ago Karma: 0
I am very new to joomla so I might be a jerk for asking.

How do I have the job listings on my front page?

I have searched and searched and I can not figure it out for the life of me.

Thanks,
James

If you want Jobline to be the start page of your Joomla installation, just move the component to the top of the list in the main menu. Or if you are using Joomla 1.5, select it and click on the Default icon in the toolbar to make it the default menu item.

If you just want to show a short list of the latest jobs next to the normal frontpage of Joomla, you can install the Jx Show Jobs module and post it to the frontpage.

Please see the Joomla documentation for more information regarding these things.

I too am new to Joomla and found this awesome job script very useful...but I can't get it to work with my version. I did as instructed (I have version 1.5 and have enabled Legacy 1.0) but it's still saying I have to do this. I've tried uninstalling and installing again but to no avail. What am I missing?

What is it saying you have to do?

It really should only be the following steps to install any Joomla component:

  1. Go to Administrator -> Extensions -> Plugin Manager and publish "System - Legacy" plugin.

  2. Go to Administrator -> Extensions -> Install/Uninstall and upload the component package file by choosing the file and then clicking the button "Upload File & Install"

  3. Go to Administrator -> Menus -> Mainmenu, click on the New icon in top right corner. Select Jobline from the list, type a name for the menu item and click on the Save icon.

Step 1 is only needed for components that need the legacy mode, and is only needed once.

That worked...thank you so much. I don't know what I was doing differently last night or what I missed, but thank you. Thank you for helping, thank you for the great product & thank you for the quick response. I will definitely be donating to the cause of rolling the new version out. Thanks again.
